Royal Canadian Mint unveils new gold coins

The Royal Canadian Mint has launched a number of new gold coins.Among the pieces is the 2010 $150 Blessings of Strength pure gold coin, which features a Chinese-inspired design by Toronto artist Harvey Chan. The coin has a total mintage of 5,000 units.
The mint has also launched a series of 14-c gold Maple Leaf coins with images relating to each of the four seasons drawn by Canadian botanical artist Celia Godkin.
Just 1,000 of each type of coin will be made available to buyers.
Meanwhile, the latest addition to the Royal Canadian Mint's 0.5 g miniature gold coin series features a version of the Caribou design created by Emmanuel Hahn in 1937 and is limited to 15,000 units.
Ian Bennett, president and chief executive of the mint, said: "The Royal Canadian Mint is passionate about crafting coins which attract collectors from Canada and around of the world because of their exclusive beauty, quality and originality."
The Royal Canadian Mint last launched new gold coins for the Vancouver Olympics earlier this year.
