A former business consultant has swapped the trading floor for the shop floor as he sets up his own gold dealing company, reports the StarPhoenix.

Bosko Kacarevic tells Ellen van Wageningen that his decision was prompted by the realisation that money can be invested into physical commodities you can see and touch, rather than abstract shares in major corporations.

"It just kind of opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking about investing," he says.

"You don't have to have all your money in mutual funds or in the stock market. You can put your money in tangible assets."

Last month, Mr Kacarevic chose to leave his job as a consultant and draw on three years as a commodities broker to create his own firm dealing in gold.

His company, Gold Coins Canada, was founded on the principle that people need to be able to trust in an investment in a climate of fraud and bankruptcies.
